Well everyone, I’m posting on a Friday so you know what that means: PHOTO FRIDAY!! Since I’m working with the ever awesome Kelly Martin this summer I get to go along and help out on shoots at times (awwwwesome). Kelly was shooting their engagement photos (see one of her shots & blog post about their meeting here!) since she’ll be photographing their wedding come August. Which will be 13 days after their 13 year anniversary – which neither of them looks old enough to even REACH a 13 year anniversary! I had so much fun on this shoot and was so excited about some of the shots I got because, let’s face it, this couple is too adorable and they were so awesome to work with!
I also got to rediscover my love of the American Tobacco Campus in downtown Durham. Now, if you know Andrew & I, you know that that we want to move pretty badly! We would love to move up to Virginia or down to Florida (or out of the country!) but until we can save enough for all of that we would really love to live in Durham. The city has such an amazing spirit and we absolutely LOVE getting to go around and experience the
food city each time we go. I had NEVER been to the Tobacco Campus before this shoot except to visit the Durham Bulls Stadium a few years ago, but I don’t really count it as I didn’t even get to go anywhere other than the baseball field!
If you’re ever in Durham you HAVE to go to this place. I’m highly in love with all of that brick and the urban feel of it. There are so many super neat areas that you may not notice at first so you’ll just have to go back a few times :). Let me tell you, the market lights alone are worth the trip so please go!!
And as an end to our time together, let me just show you what is probably my new favorite outtake I’ve ever had from a shoot. I was having a bit of camera issues that night (which is why it’s an outtake, my poor baby needs to go to the shop!) and this was our last set up. I personally LOVE natural “poses” because I feel like they showcase you all the better than my telling you to look at each other a certain way. So this is what I got from this lovely couple after I asked them to be natural – I told you they were fun to shoot!
Wishing you an abundance of funny photos and brick!
